Maynard Ralph Gibson, 89 of Westville, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was born September 27, 1931 in Kouts to Clifford and Delcie (Reinhardt) Gibson. Maynard graduated from Hebron High School in 1949 and built his career as a tanker truck driver for Coca-Cola and Yellow Freight. Following his career driving truck, he spent 10 years working at Costas Foods/Wise-Way in Valparaiso before retiring. Maynard was a lifelong Cubs fan, and was thrilled to cheer their historic World Series win in 2016. He was also a long-time member of Hopewell Mennonite Church in Kouts.   As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his family meant more to him than anything else, and he never hesitated to show it. Anyone with the good fortune of knowing Maynard will remember his generous and optimistic nature, gentle, loving soul, and good sense of humor. Quick with a smile and a kind word, he endeared himself to everyone he met. Maynard will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  On October 12, 2002, he married Maryann (Franz) Granback, who survives, along with children: Gail (Ed) Hearne, Mike (Adrienne) Gibson, Tim (Susan) Gibson, Michelle (Chad) Clifford, Dan (Kristy) Klinefelter, Kristin Granback; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ron (Beverly) Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 E. Indiana Ave., Kouts.
