Eldon Paul Zulich, 86, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015. He was born December 28, 1928 in Valparaiso to Alfred & Elizabeth (Watson) Zulich and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1946. Paul worked in Department #1 at McGill’s Bearing Division for 47 years where he was a popular organizer of various sports gaming pools.  He was a member of First Christian Church and in recent years served as a pseudo taxi and delivery service for his neighbors and friends at the Banta Center. His volunteerism spanned decades long involvement with the Valparaiso Lions Club, Moose Lodge, Soap Box Derby, Valparaiso High School and Valparaiso University Football “chain gangs”, Popcornfest decorative popping and many more shorter term events. Paul was an enthusiastic volunteer for those needing a helping hand.  On August 27, 1948 he married Margaret Biggs who preceded him in death in 2005. Survivors include their children: Jeffrey (Jodi) Zulich of Valparaiso, Cheryl (Richard) Lee of Richmond, IN, Steven (Debbie) Zulich of Valparaiso, his friend and close companion, Stella Lawrence of Valparaiso, grandchildren: Jennifer Lee(Paul Roach), Laura (Michael) Maiello, Rachel (Mike) Wallace, Sarah (John) Scott, Timothy (Tina) Zulich & Julie Zulich and 6 great grandchildren with another expected soon.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles & Donald Zulich and sister, Mildred Ogden.
A visitation will be held Friday from 3-7 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Valparaiso Lions Club.
