William Charles Marks, 83, of Hanna formerly of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013.  He was born July 7, 1929 in California to Donald & Jessie Marks, graduated from Chaffey High School and attended Cal Poly University.  Bill had been a Service and Installation Technician with GTE for over 30 years retiring in 1992.  He attended Heartland Christian Center, was an avid bowler, pitched in Valparaiso Park league softball until age 60, enjoyed watching all varieties of sports and had a special knowledge and interest in horses, particularly the fast ones, having raised horses in his younger years.
On December 22, 1979 he married Mary Anne (Glinski) Boyd who survives along with his children: Charles Marks of Michigan, Edith Henson of Missouri, Craig Marks of Minnesota, Erin Sullivan of California, Margaret Miller of California, step-children: Theresa (Ken) Goral of Hanna, William (Tammy) Boyd of Valparaiso, Jack (Cecelia Li) Boyd of Valparaiso, Kim (Lance) Husmann of Hanna, Nancy Myers of New Jersey and numerous loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Robert Boyd.
Following cremation a memorial service will be held Thursday at 5:30 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, pastor Phil Willingham officiating with visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
