PRICES REMAIN COMPETITIVE

Our philosophy of service is based on providing exceptional quality at the best price available.  You can see it in our facilities, in our staff, and in our flexible service offerings.  Visit www.angelcrestinc.com for a complete listing of our services, merchandise, and prices.  No funeral service provider in this area offers a more complete selection of merchandise and service choices at a more reasonable price.  In addition, Angelcrest Cemetery continues to offer the most reasonably priced burial spaces in the area.  Graves there start at just $300!

PREARRANGING A GREAT WAY TO SAVE

Funding funeral expenses in advance of need is a great way to save money on funeral costs.  By fully funding a funeral into an irrevocable funeral trust, you get to take advantage of our 6% discount, and, the funeral home portion of the total expense is guaranteed.  The money also remains protected from Medicaid in the event you should incur long-term care costs.  When you figure in the cost savings and the peace of mind your family gets from knowing your final arrangements are planned, paid for, and secure, it makes good sense!

COMMUNITY CEMETERIES SERVE RESIDENTS

For those families residing in the area communities of Kouts, LaCrosse, and Hanna, graves are available for purchase at a very reasonable cost at your local cemetery.  For example, in Kouts, graves can be purchased for $250 each at the Pleasant Township Graceland Cemetery on State Road 8 west of town.  Trustee Jean Oehlman can be reached at 766-3216.  Les Earle takes care of Oak Grove Cemetery in LaCrosse, where a five-grave lot in the front section can be purchased for a total of $500.  A five-grave lot in the back section sells for $450.  Call Les at 754-2372.  Residents of Hanna Township are eligible to purchase graves there for $500 each.  Contact Luann Marks at 797-4772.  While grave opening and closing charges vary slightly at these cemeteries, they remain among the least expensive in the area, making your community cemetery a good deal all around.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Jason Armstrong joined the funeral directing staff at Angelcrest in December of 2002 after working for six years in LaPorte.  A native of Altoona, PA, he moved to Valparaiso in 1982 as a first-grader when his father was called to pastor the Valparaiso Mennonite Church.  Jason graduated from Washington Township High School in 1993, where he participated in band, choir, baseball, basketball and volleyball.  He attended Indiana University, and graduated in 1996 from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science.  Jason and his wife Debbie have three children, six year old Jared, three year old Mikaela, and Logan, who is eight months.  The Armstrongs are members of Grace New Testament Church, where Jason is on the Worship Team.  In addition to trying to keep up with his kids, he stays active by playing church-league basketball and softball, and park-league volleyball.

FROM THE ARCHIVES

We recently came across a photo that reminded us just how far we’ve come.  The picture at left was taken shortly after our facility on Roosevelt Road was built by the Wetmore family in 1963.  At right, our current building.

It is with great respect that we acknowledge the passing of Dorisann Wetmore this past September.  Mrs. Wetmore was laid to rest next to her husband and founding partner, Leonard, in a private family service at Valparaiso’s historic Maplewood Cemetery.  We are proud to carry on the legacy of quality established by the Wetmore family.
