Irene Freyenberger, 83, of Kouts passed away on Sunday August 22, 2010 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso.  She was born on May 26, 1927 in LaCrosse, IN to Joseph and Anna (Martin) Good.  She was a graduate of LaCrosse High School.  Irene was a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church in Kouts.  She was a loving, caring person who never had an enemy, loved the Lord and her family.
On February 28, 1948 in Kouts she married Edward Freyenberger who preceded her in death in 2007.  Irene is survived by 2 daughters:  Cheryl (Harvy) Nix and Beverly (Nick) Moyer; 3 sons:  Keith (Valerie) Freyenberger, Douglas (Ann) Freyenberger, and Todd (Heidi) Freyenberger all of Kouts, 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son David, 2 grandchildren: Shawn and David, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
After burial at Hopewell Mennonite Cemetery, a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 5:00 PM at Hopewell Mennonite Church, 805 N. Main St. Kouts, IN 46347 with Pastor Joel Short officiating.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the church.  Memorial contributions to Hopewell Mennonite Church’s Children Ministry.
