Sharon L. Strohl age 66 of Hot Springs, AR and formerly of Valparaiso passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs, AR.  She was born in Gary on March 16, 1944 to Arthur B. and Helen D. (Lowe) Cooper.  Sharon graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1962. On March 4, 1967 in Gary, she married Phillip N. Strohl who survives. Sharon was a motor route driver for the Vidette Messenger for 25 yrs, a CASA volunteer for Porter County for 12 yrs, a member of Liberty Bible Church and active in the Women's Bible Study and other various programs throughout the church.  Her passion in life was children and she loved her grandchildren dearly.  Sharon loved to interact with them and built memories that will last a lifetime. She and Phil became snowbirds to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2000 and permanently retired there in 2007.
Sharon is also survived by her 4 children, Robert Strohl of North Judson, Christine (Peter) Claire of Indianapolis, Richard (Lauralee) Strohl of North Judson, and Kelly (Brian) Clum of Ada, OH; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Barbara Pennington of Arizona; brother, Homer “Bud” Newton of Portage; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Newton of Arizona.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Newton; 2 sisters, Carol Kennedy and Linda Reynolds; and granddaughter, Amber Strohl.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso with Pastor Robert W. Nienhuis officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society.
