Elmer S. Ahlberg, age 92 of
Valparaiso passed away Friday, February 3, 2012.
He was born on November 26, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Sanfried and Teckla
(Carlson) Ahlberg. Elmer was a 1938
graduate of Calumet High School in Chicago and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He worked at Urschel Laboratories, Valparaiso for 38 years as a pattern
maker. Elmer was a member of the First Christian Church D.O.C. of Valparaiso and
the Midwest Sundowners Model Airplane Club.
On June 30, 1946
in Valparaiso, Elmer married Valeria M. Price who preceded him in death in 1993.
He remarried to Marian McDonald who survives along with his children,
David (Terri) Ahlberg of Valparaiso and Teresa (James) Siebert of Columbus, OH;
4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Ahlberg;
and sister, Evelyn Hawkins.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso with Rev. David Kovalow-St. John officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Monday from 3-7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Visiting Nurses Association, 2401 Valley Dr, Valparaiso 46383.
