Betty
Jane Willich, 77, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, February 1,
2012 at the VNA Hospice Center. She
was born December 19, 1934 in Gary,
IN
to Samuel & Florence Krajack and graduated from Emerson High School.
Betty had worked in the Children’s Department at J.C.Penney’s in the
Village then at Southlake Mall. She
retired as a Sales Clerk with Carson’s at Southlake
Mall. Constantly on the move, she
could be found at the Banta
Center in art classes,
bowling, line dancing, Ti Chai class and gardening with her family on weekends.
Despite this active schedule she never let anything come ahead of her
grandkids or family unless you include her black lab, Molly.
Betty had been
married for 52 years to Joseph Willich, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2007.
Survivors include their children; Joseph (Kellie) Willich, Jr. of
Broomfield,
CO, Steve (Cindy) Willich of York,
PA, Denise (Dan) Scott of Valparaiso, grandchildren, who affectionately knew her
as “Grams”; Lindsey, Ashley, Christopher, Mary, Danny, Mike & Heather and great
grandchildren; Allie, Henry & Jayden.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy and
brother, Johnny.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 2 – 4 pm at
Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt
Rd., Valparaiso with funeral service
beginning at 4:00 pm. In
lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lymphoma Association.
