Nina L. Nielsen Wozniak Fitch, 95, of
Martinsville, IN, formerly of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Wednesday, December
21, 2011. She had lived in Martinsville since December 2005. Nina was born
July 19, 1916 in Jackson Twp., Porter County to Mads and Christine (Andersen)
Nielsen. She graduated from Washington Twp. High School and was a member of the
First Church of the Nazarene in Valparaiso. Nina married Theodore Wozniak and
together they owned and operated the Wozniak Well Company which she continued
after his death in 1962. Nina later married Donald Fitch who preceded her in
death in 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharlene (Eric Whitlock) Wozniak of Brown
County, IN and Victoria (Gary) McKinley of Martinsville, IN; one step-son, Dale
(Patricia) Fitch of Ohio; one grandson, Adam (Jennifer) McKinley; four
step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Kimberly and Matthew, and 10 step
great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by
two children, Sharon and Roger Wozniak; three brothers, Clarence, William and
Hans Nielsen; and three sisters, Marie and Bernice Nielsen and Anna Foster.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27 from 11:00 AM until the time of the
service at 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home,
104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. The Rev. Dale Fitch will officiate with burial
to follow at Westville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nina’s
name may be made to the Brown County Humane Society.
