Jane “Janice” T. Johnston, 56, of Valparaiso passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2012 at her home.  She was born on April 29, 1955 in Hammond to Cashmir and Catherine.  Janice was a graduate of Portage high school and was self-employed owning Better Way Cleaning.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and yard work.
On March 9, 1973 in Hobart she married James “Jim” Johnston who survives along with 2 children: Stacey Johnston of Valparaiso and Daymon (Amanda) Johnston of Hobart, 2 grandchildren: Sydney and McKenzie, sister Yogi Harris of South Haven and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank and Joe Laskus, and brother-in-law Elmer Harris.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 1 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd. Valparaiso, IN. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
